Video Game - PS5 | Guardians of the Galaxy

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy for PS5 is a single-player action-adventure game where you play exclusively as Star-Lord/Peter Quill leading the ragtag team of Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot through an original story set in a separate Marvel universe years after a devastating interstellar war. The story begins when the Guardians accidentally unleash a mysterious entity while trying to capture a rare monster for profit, triggering a chain of catastrophic events involving the Universal Church of Truth, a sinister Promise that brainwashes victims with illusions of their deepest desires, and a cosmic threat that could destroy the galaxy. Combat features Star-Lord's elemental guns and jet boots while your AI-controlled teammates execute their unique abilities—you can command Gamora to slash enemies, order Rocket to deploy explosives, direct Groot to entangle foes, or have Drax charge into battle—chaining these abilities together for devastating team combos. During missions you make dialogue choices that affect character relationships and alter objectives within chapters, trigger Team Huddle moments where Star-Lord gives motivational speeches accompanied by licensed '80s rock songs to buff your team's abilities, explore the Milano spaceship between missions to have optional conversations with crew members and learn more about their backstories, and experience flashback sequences featuring Peter's childhood and his mother Meredith that explore themes of grief, loss, and found family throughout the 16-chapter linear narrative. This video game is recommended for ages 13 and up due to mild blood, violence, language, and suggestive themes.
